Bangalore: ‘Crush Mining Barons’ – Dr U R Anantamurty to CM

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Nov 2: “Those who made money by selling iron ore, a precious mineral of the state, should be decimated. Morally, I hereby extend my full support in this cause, to Yeddyurappa,” announced noted litterateur and Jnan Pith awardee, Dr U R Anantamurty.

After voluntarily participating in the Rajyotsava celebrations organized at Kalakshetra here on Sunday November 1, the write spoke to journalists.

“I normally do not participate in any meetings. I have come here, as Yeddyurappa has participated in this programme. I have conveyed to him that morally I am against the unbridled mining and that I am fully supportive of his fight against illegal mining,” Murty said.

He felt that the mining barons of Bellary have killed democracy. The ministers and legislators backing the Reddys are behaving unethically, and I have advised the Chief Minister to enforce total ban on mining activities, he added.

“The first mistake Yeddyurappa committed was to have given the Reddys room in the party, and then, following up this mistake by buying legislators of other parties by using their money. Now he seems to have realized his mistakes and has made amends in his way of functioning. It is my duty therefore, to support Yeddyurappa, who has made up mind to act tough with the mining lobby,” Anantamurty explained.

While holding that ban on mining alone can save the state from disaster, he said that Bellary district has suffered because of mining to such an extent that even grass does not grow there. He hailed Yeddyurappa for opposing the highhanded attitude of the Reddy Camp.

Well said Dr AnantaMurthy. Yeddy should realize his mistakes now and drive away the Reddy's. No party must take them in. Also Yeddy must work towards better relations between the various religious groups and concentrate only over development.

It is good to see that someone is putting his foot down- the mining crowd has looted the state and the country too by indiscriminate mining because of their political clout -whether in Karnataka or in Andhra Pradesh. What is the Central Govt doing about it- nothing because of the late Andhra CM clout with the Centre. 56 crore crown for the Tirupati temple was like a dagger in the heart of democracy in the heart of the poor and the downtrodden whose lives could have gone up quite some notches if it was instead used to help them. Lets get the Reddy's investigated by the various govt departments and we might find a scam bigger than one imagines.

Pro.U.R.Murthy is quite right. The politics of Karnataka is redused to political prostituion.Operation Kamala is succesful but the patient(Yeddy) died. When the people are suffering in karnataka due to floods, these politicians are enjoying in the resorts. The cheddy culture and reddy culture do not suit the state. What we the common people want is a curruption free state.

I must congratulate Dr Murthy for speaking blunt truth. We suuport you sir and CM saheb, if he is determined to crush these mining barons who are showing muscles of money to our CM. Let all parties forget their differences and stand neck to neck in support of CM in crushing these looters. Yeddy must be given one more fair chance as he realised his mistake.

Now he is reday to mend himself. Our loyalty should be shown to our state. Yeddy must win the confidence of all sections of people of karnataka and not just one section that believes in devissive ideologies... Better late than never.. Good luck CM saheb...

Well said shri Dr U R A Murthy. Congrats you for your open statements. Those who are looting the natural resources - THE GIFT OF GOD - for their selfish growth are worst than animals having the human body. In short they have already died but burried only at later date.
