Bantwal: JMFC Court Sends Serial Killer Mohan Kumar to Judicial Custody Till Nov 13

Bantwal, Nov 3: The JMFC court sent serial rapist and killer Mohan Kumar alias Anand to judicial custody till Friday November 13.

He is accused of killing 20 women with doses of cyanide and was presented by the police in court here on Monday November 2.

Mohan was nabbed by the police here on October 18, and he had confessed to killing the women with cyanide.  Although Mohan was produced before the judge twice by the police, the court had only sent him to police custody so far.

Judge Nagaraj Ankasadoddi gave the order for judicial custody on Monday.

ASP Dr Chandra Gupta Says Probe is On:

Puttur ASP Dr Chandra Gupta addressing media persons at B C Road said that the probe will be expedited. He said that vital information in the killing of Anita from Barimar had been already obtained from Mohan Kumar.  

He added that Anita’s jewellery had been recovered from a finance company at Tokkottu and the probe into the murder of Sashikala from Polali–Kariyangala is also in progress.  

“Mohan was taken to Mangalore, Hassan, Puttur, Madikeri, Kushalanagar, and other towns where he had committed the gruesome killings of innocent women”, Dr Gupta said.

“The probe into two more victims of Mohan who are residents of Mittoor and Peraje under the limits of Vittal police station, will be undertaken shortly. Once again, the police will seek his custody in case Mohan has to be taken to various locations where the crimes were committed”, he added.

Circle inspector Nanjunde Gowda, and rural sub-inspector H Shivaprakash were present on the occasion.
