Bellary: Yeddyurappa Gives a Clean Chit to MP Anant Kumar
Daijiworld Media Network – Bellary (SP)
Bellary, Nov 3: Determined to put at rest the speculations with which the media was rife during the last couple of days, that BJP MP, Anant Kumar, had been behind the dissidence witnessed in the state unit of the party, and that he had egged on the Reddy brothers to topple the Chief Minister (CM), CM Yeddyurappa said that no one, including Anant Kumar, were responsible for the strife. He expressed the confidence that the dark clouds that were hovering over the party, will blow away soon.
Speaking to reporters on Monday November 2 on his way to Bagalkot from the city, at the Jindal Airport here, the CM termed the rumours about Anant Kumar as baseless. “Anant Kumar has been working hard day and night, to sort out the problems in the party. I even do not have any grouse on the Reddys. It is regretful, that the name of Kumar, who has been striving for an amicable solution, is being dragged into the controversy. Under his leadership, everything would be sorted out, and I have full confidence in him,” Yeddyurappa said.
Yeddyurappa said that Anant Kumar was expected to participate in the inauguration of ‘Asare’ programme, but he was busy with his parleys to settle all issues, by holding talks with Reddy brothers in New Delhi. “I wish that ministers Janardan Reddy, Karunakar Reddy and Sriramulu will forget everything and work with the leadership to carry the state forward,” he added.
The CM said that he would meet the Prime Minister (PM) on November 5 or 6 to apprise him of the grave situation the state is facing because of floods and heavy rains, and that efforts would be made to bring the PM to some flood-affected areas to make him understand the plight of the people and the Herculean task the state government is faced with. Explaining that home minister, Dr P Chidambaram, has already been convinced of the huge losses and devastation the state has gone through because of the natural calamity, he expressed confidence that the centre will enhance its aid to the state to enable the government to cope up with the tragedy of this magnitude.
Earlier in the day, he said that being the leader of the state and the party, he will make ammends in his behaviour in the best interests of the state. He also divulged that the central leaders have advised him to concentrate on flood relief measures, instead of coming to Delhi to hold discussions on political situation.
