New Formula to End Crisis in Karnataka: Yeddyurappa

Bangalore, Nov 3 (PTI) : A day after receiving full backing from the party's top brass, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday said BJP's central leadership is coming out with a ''new formula'' to end the week-long crisis following dissidents' demand for his removal.

Continuing his conciliatory tone, Yeddyurappa recalled the contribution of Ministers Karunakara Reddy and Janardhana Reddy, the two brothers who have been spearheading the campaign for a change of guard, during government formation in May last year when BJP fell short of a simple majority and independents were roped in to back to BJP dispensation.

"Today with all humility, I want to tell you something... It's true that in some bad moment, some political confusion had taken place. When we were forming the Government, we needed the cooperation of Reddy brothers and they gave the cooperation," he told reporters in Bellary, the home district of the Reddy brothers.

"Thereafter because of some misunderstanding, there is some confusion. The party's central leadership is correcting this and they have spoken to them (Reddy brothers) yesterday. The problem is being resolved with (senior party leader) H N Ananath Kumar in the lead," he said.

At a meeting with the rebel leaders in Delhi on Monday, the central leadership decided to rally behind Yeddyurappa, credited with bringing the saffron party to power for the first time in the south, though the decision failed to satisfy the dissidents who remained firm on his ouster.

"Perhaps today, we are trying to resolve the issue by coming out with a new formula," he added but did not elaborate the issues to be discussed.

The rebels, sore with Yeddyurappa's style of functioning, accuse him of ignoring them in decision making.

A section of MLAs who have thrown their weight behind the Reddy brothers has openly sought removal of Chief Minister's Principal secretary V P Baligar and Rural Development Minister Shobha Karandlaje.

Baligar has been accused by some MLAs of ignoring them, while the first time MLA Karnadlaje, the lone woman Minister in the Yeddyurappa cabinet, has come under attack for her closeness to the Chief Minister and the "prominence" that she gets.

Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa also said he is visiting Delhi on November 5 to invite Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to visit flood-affected areas and personally see the devastation, so that the state could expect more assistance from the Centre for flood-relief programmes.

Mr. Yeddi nobody is bothered about your new formula to end BJP crisis. Better go to flood affected area and arrange to distribute relief fund without further delay and drama. Its too late now. Enough is Enough. Stop cheating the valuable Voters.

Yeddy, Please call up the PM or send him an email. Its not your wedding invitation. How can you afford to to go to Delhi every now and then?Earlier for securing your chair, now for inviting to see the flooded areas. How much time will you really spend in karnataka aimed towards real development?

This is the best time for S M Krishna for taking state politics. Yeddyurappa is caught in the web created by himself. Look at BJP that when state is reeling under flood situation they are playing politicks with fire! It is nothing but the war between Ananth Kumar & Yeddi with Dananjay Kumar showing his wicked true image.

I think the best solution in the interest of the state is for the congress and the JDs to give outside support to Yeddy and the breakaway faction of the BJP. Prior to this a common minimum programme should be chalked out and one of the key points should be total decimation of the Bellary mining mafia.

A bunch of swindlers should not be allowed to loot the nation's wealth and hold the state to ransom. What is the difference between the naxalites and the Bellary Reddy's?. Both want to destroy the state and the democratic institutions. One with the help of guns and the other with ill gotten wealth.

It is the right time to CM to step down from chair. He is anti religion During his tenure attacks took place. He is only developed his constituency. Flood affected places have not been looked after. People still struggle for shelter and food. It is the right time for BJP high command to take the right decision.

Keep trying Eddy. The days are not longer anymore. The innocent people went to jail and the police cases on them still not withdrawn. They are cursing you round the clock. Your people wore police dress and joined the police to beat up the innocent in Mangalore church attack. You delayed your trip to Mangalore and took rest in Bangalore when such cruel attack was made on churches who always worked for the betterment of the society. The people who took to the streets were forced to board the police vans and were taken to Madikeri Jail with a shock for their entire life.
