Bengaluru, Feb 26: it has transpired that Audra Narayan and Amulya Leona Noronha, both of whom have been arrested for their controversial statements against the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests and booked for sedition relating to controversial slogans, were close friends. The police have found during the investigation that both of them had stayed for some time together in a paying guest accommodation.

Amulya, who was arrested for raising slogans hailing Pakistan, has been taken into police custody for four days by the western division police. She is being interrogated. During this questioning, it came to light that Amulya had stayed in a paying guest accommodation with Arudra for some time. "Since the last some years, I have been in contact with Arudra. Our similar ideologies cemented our friendship. We took part in anti-CAA and anti-NRC protests actively. We also stayed together in the same paying guest accommodation for some time," Amulya reportedly revealed to the police.

Amulya said that she came to know after being imprisoned that Arudra had raised voice in her favour. She is said to have insisted that both of them are facing false allegations and that they have done nothing wrong. Amulya asserted that she shouted 'Pakistan Zindabad' because of certain reasons, and blamed the concerned for not allowing her to complete her address. She said that if she was allowed to speak further, she could have made her stand clear. Amulya has been insisting that she and Arudra have not done anything wrong.

Amulya also reportedly said she has had high regard for Gauri Lankesh and followed her stands. "Her murder angered me. I was trolled in social websites individually and in a vulgar manner. This inspired me to get involved with anti-CAA fight further. We are involved with organizations which advocate leftist principles. For exchanging communications freely, we formed a WhatsApp group too," she reportedly stated.

Amulya is said to have used social websites ably to attract youngsters towards the anti-CAA and anti - NRC protests. She had formed 'Young India', 'BSF" and other groups under WhatsApp where she exchanged some information. There are claims that she also made use of dating apps to attract young masses.

With the arrest of Amulya, many had deleted messages exchanged on social websites including WhatsApp involving her. Some also had advised Arudra to delete voicemails and messages with Amulya, it is learnt.
