Mangalore, Nov: 5th D K and Udupi District Masters Athletic Championship 2009-2010 and 1st Mangalore age group Triathlon Meet for boys and girls will be held in Mangala Stadium and Mangala Swimming Club, Mangalore on November 29, 2009.
The meet is organized by DK and Udupi District Master’s Athletic Association and Mangala Swimming Club, Mangalore. The Master’s Championship will serve as a run up for selecting district team to the forthcoming state level Athletic championship.
The eligibility for the Masters Athletics for men is 35+ to 75+ and for women it is 30+ to 70+ with five years gap in each age group. A participant can participate in a maximum of 3 events either track or field.
Events for both men and women include 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, 1500M, 5000M Run and Walk, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discuss Throw, Hammer Throw and Javelin Throw.
Triathlon Meet will be conducted in three age groups
1. below 13 years for boys and girls
2. below 15 years for boys and girls
3. Below 17 years for boys and girls.
Events for below 13 Boys and Girls include:
100M Freestyle Swimming + 1km cycling+400M running
Events for below 15 years Boys and Girls
200M Freestyle Swimming+1Km Cycling+800M running
Events for below 17 years Boys and Girls
300M Freestyle Swimming+1Km Cycling+1200 M running
Interested participants are required to give their names along with the entry fee of Rs. 100/- (150/- for new registration) and Rs. 50 for Triathlon Meet on or before 26th November, 2009 to P Laxman Rai, Secretary, D K & Udupi MAA, “Sri Panchami”, Behind Pump H:ouse, Kulur, Mangalore – 13. Triathlon participants are required to use their own cycle without gear and winners up to 6th place will be awarded cash price and certificate.
The meet will commence at 6.30 am and will be concluded at around 5. p m. Participants are required to obtain the chest numbers on or before 28-11-2009 at 5 pm from Mangala Stadium.
