Mangalore, Nov 6:
Divine Call Centre(DCC), Mulki, reached yet another milestone, after the ‘Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) – National Youth Conference,’ on the topic, ‘Youth in Emerging India,’ went under way at its premises on Thursday November 5. The conference will continue to be held till November 8.

On this occasion, a new English devotional CD, ‘Strengthen Us Your Servants,’ was released at the inaugural Mass held on Thursday November 5, by Archbishop Leo Cornelio SVD (Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh), in the presence of Bishop Vincent Samuel of Niyantikara Diocese (Kerala), Bishop Oswald Lewis of Jaipur Diocese (Rajasthan) along with the national youth director of ICYM, Fr Alwyn D’Souza, and hundreds of youth animators and youngsters from all over India.

While blessing and inaugurating the first ever English CD produced by Divine Call Centre, Mulki, the Archbishop complimented the hard work of the concerned, and wished all success in the centre’s future endeavours.

The hymns in the CD have been composed by Richard Machado from Derebail Parish. Vincent Thalakkottoor of Potta is the music director of the CD. Recording was done at Chetana Studio, Trissur. The hymns have been sung by Vincent, Rose, Shelton, Franklin, Lora, Gissel, Grace and Antony.

Richard Machado has composed lyrics and melodies for his earlier popular volumes, ‘Agape,’ ‘Khursar Thavn’ and ‘Apad Jezu Maka’ and ‘Tuji Kurpa.’ ‘Strengthen Us Your Servants,’ is his first ever English composition.

The said audio CD has been produced by Divine Call Centre, Mulki, and its copies are available at the Retreat Centre and in the leading religious shops in Mangalore. Shortly, the copies of this CD will be made available in some places in Mumbai too, informed Fr Anil Kiran Fernandes, SVD.

At a time when the country is going through a crisis it is good to see efforts being made by people of GOOD WILL to strengthen our faith. I had an occasion of meeting the present director of Divine Call Center at a function and I was indeed very impressed with his approach. This is a typical case of A PRIEST WHO BELIEVES THAT HE IS FIRST A MAN (HUMAN BEING) AND THEN A PRIEST. It is this kind of approach that is necessary in today's world to reach out to people. My good wishes are with D.C.C. Joe Gonsalves
