Karkala, Nov 7: In a strange incident that occurred at Nitte village in the taluk on Friday November 6, the husband of a woman, who had tried to commit suicide, ended his own life by hanging himself from a tree. The unfortunate victim has been identified as Pundalik (28) from Ramadurg in Belgaum district.

Pundalik worked as a worker in a stone crusher unit at Parappady in Nitte. After the couple fought on some issue on Thursday night, his wife, Meenakshi, reportedly tried to commit suicide by gobbling up old tablets found in the house. After she started vomitting, her neighbourers admitted her into a private hospital at night.

By the time she came back home after being discharged from the hospital on Friday morning, she saw the body of her husband hanging from a tree nearby her home. The deceased is survived by wife and two small kids. A case has been registered in the rural police station here, in this connection.
