Udupi, Feb 29: ICYM Udyavar, as the part of its golden jubilee celebrations, is all set to host one of the mega events of the year ‘Crastro’s Bhangrali Kogul 2020, a Udupi-Mangaluru diocese level singing competition.
ICYM unit of St Francis Xavier Church, Udyavar, is on the threshold of its golden jubilee year. On this occasion, the members of ICYM, past and present, are conducting various events. One of these is the mega event ‘Crastro Bhangrali Kogul – 2020’. With a view to give a stage to budding singers of both the dioceses of Mangaluru and Udupi, the event is being organized. There will be an audition round and grand finale. The competition will be adjudged by well-known personalities of Konkani music industry.
The audition round will be held in both Udupi and Mangaluru on March 8 from 9 am. The Udupi auditions will be held at Udyavara church hall and Mangaluru auditions in ICYM central council office, Jeppu. Both auditions will be held on the same time and day.
With the view to give a proper platform for the budding singers of the diocese, ‘Bhangrali Kogul’ is the right platform to showcase talent. Only Catholic Christians can register the names for the competition.
The top five participants, each from Udupi and Mangaluru diocese, will be selected from the auditions round. The 10 contestants will participate in the grand finale.
Grand finale of Crastro’s ‘Bhangrali Kogul-2020’ will be held on March 22 at Udyavar church grounds from 5 pm.
In the grand finale, the first prize winner will be awarded Rs 10,000 and a trophy, followed by Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively for second and third places along with trophies.
