Mangaluru, Mar 4: A two-day national conference on the topic ‘Psychology: Transcending Barriers For A Better Future’ will be organized by the Department of Psychology, St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru, an activity of Paramarsh Scheme, sponsored by University Grants Commission on March 6 and 7.

The conference will focus on the areas of neuropsychology, child and adolescent psychology, design thinking and sports psychology by experts in their respective fields Dr Jamuna Rajeswaran, Dr Rupesh B Nagraj, Dr Shailaja Shastri and Dr Chaithanya Sridhar.

Dr Jamuna Rajeswaran is a professor and the Head of the Clinical and Cognitive Psychology unit, NIMHANS. Dr Roopesh B Nagraj is the additional professor of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health unit, NIMHANS. Dr Shailaja Shastri is a psychologist and director of Training and Research Initiatives, Bengaluru. Dr Chaitanya Sridhar is a Sports and Peak Performance Consultant, Bengaluru.

The conference will include a workshop on the ‘Theatre of the Oppressed’ conducted by Ravi Ramaswamy, trustee, Centre for Community Dialogue and Change, Bengaluru.

The academic session will consist of research paper and poster presentation. Other highlights of the programme will be thematic dance, mad-ad and face painting competitions.
