CM to release journalist Raveendra Shetty's work 'Namma Mangaluru'

Mangaluru, Mar 5: B Raveendra Shetty, chief sub-editor of 'Vijaya Karnataka' Kannada daily, has authored a book titled 'Namma Mangaluru - Mangaluru Mahanagara Palikeya Samagra Nota' (Namma Mangaluru - Integrated view of Mangaluru City Corporation). This book will be released at 11 am on March 7 at town hall in the city. The book will be released by Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa, in the presence of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade.

The book will be unveiled at the state conference of journalists being held at the town hall here under the aegis of Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists' Union. It will be released at the inaugural of the conference. Deputy chief minister Dr Ashwath Narayan, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, minister for tourism C T Ravi, MLAs D Vedavyas Kamath and Dr Bharath Shetty, apart from Karnataka State Journalists Union president Shivananda Tagadur, and other dignitaries will be present.

Prof B A Vivek Rai has written the preface for the book while city corporation commissioner Ajit Kumar Hegde Shanadi, has written the concluding remarks. 'Vijaya Karnataka' resident editor U K Kumarnath has, through a write-up, conveyed his best wishes.

Integrated presentation of Mangaluru: The articles in this work depict people's representatives of Mangaluru, a short view of Dakshina Kannada district, important statistics about the local city corporation, history of Mangaluru administration, growth of municipality into city municipality and City Corporation, and other exhaustive details are provided. All details relating to the first ever election held to the city corporation from 1983 till 2019, parties which ruled the city, details of its people's representatives, names, photos and details of people who served as corporators during the last 36 years, have been provided.

Facilities for which the citizens from here are eligible, how to avail of them, administration and other facilities are detailed in the book. Information about ponds, parks, grounds, libraries, parks, hospitals, educational institutions, hotels, important centres of faith, important tourist spots, Tulu films, cinema theatres, media firms, details of police stations, travel system information and many other things are included in the book.
