Bengaluru: Feeling frustrated, Yogeshwar planning downfall of Yediyurappa government?

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Benglauru, Mar 5: A number of political analysts sense that an effort to topple the Yediyurappa-led BJP government is underway at a time when everything seemed to be falling in place. There are many who believe that former minister, C P Yogeshwar, who is peeved at his efforts having been overlooked, is working to engineer the downfall of the government.

Yogeshwar, who is treated by both D K Shivakumar and H D Kumaraswamy as their ardent enemy, wanted to become a minister, although he was defeated in last year's election. Even the BJP leadership is aware that an effort to destabilize the BJP government in the state is on. Yogeshwar feels that he deserves the post of the minister as he had worked tirelessly to bring the previous coalition government down. He points out that defeated MLA, Laxman Savadi, has been made deputy chief minister.

There is no doubt that Yogeshwar played a very important role in re-establishing BJP government in Karnataka. It is said that he is angry at Yediyurappa for not making him a minister as he was confident of becoming a member of the ministry. He also had told many that he would be a minister soon but now he feels let down. It is said that he had tried to bring pressure on the chief minister through important BJP leaders to admit him into the ministry. Many banners to congratulate him on his elevation as minister were also ready, it is said. After getting to know that his name was dropped from the list of ministers, Yogeshwar had absented from the swearing in ceremony and from then on, he has been keeping distance from party programmes, even though he was always seen near the chief minister till then.

Yogeshwar feels that he deserves to be rewarded for making his rivals, Shivakumar and Kumaraswamy, bite the dust by bringing back the BJP government. A BJP office bearer said that there is suspicion that he is in contact with some Congress leaders and also frustrated BJP MLAs who could not get berth in the state ministry.
