Udupi, Mar 10: It was a surprising, a joyous and merry making day for the women staff working in St Mary’s English Medium School (CBSE), Kannarpady, Udupi as Women’s Day was celebrated in the school on Monday, March 9.

The celebration started at the Mother Theresa hall by seeking blessings from almighty by the KG section teachers followed by a formal welcome by Rajashree.

The women’s day celebration was well planned and executed by the men staff of the school.

Principal Fr Johnson Sequeira appreciated the service rendered by women in the school according to their capabilities and taking initiative in all the activities of the school and supporting the school in all the possible ways by sacrificing their personal needs most of the times.

Walter D’Souza, the senior staff of the school and the member of the school management committee said, “Women in our school constitute 90% of the workforce. They are independent and capable of doing everything equally to men. They play the role of Home makers at home and Nation builders at school.”

Lancy Mendonca opined, “Women are unique combination of strength, intelligence, love and beauty” and wished the women staff through a wonderful prayer.

The men dedicated a beautiful song to the women by singing it melodiously. Cake cutting on the occasion beautified this event. They also conducted some lucky games to the women staff.

The menfolk of the school put in their best to make this day a memorable one under the able captainship of the principal.

This celebration is a landmark in the history of St Mary’s and will remain as a memorable event in the lives of St Marians.
