'Only guy in Congress who could walk into my house anytime' - Rahul Gandhi on Scindia

New Delhi, March 11 (IANS): Hours after Rahul Gandhi, whose close if not closest associate in the party, Jyotiraditya Scindia, joined the BJP on Wednesday, the former Congress chief broke his silence, saying, "He was the only one who could walk into my house anytime".

Rahul Gandhi also rubbished Scidia's claim that he was unable to meet him and interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi, since that would be impossible for a person who had all access at all time to the Gandhi household.

Scindia earlier alleged that he had tried to reach out to Sonia Gandhi but could not do so. Rahul Gandhi, who was once seen winking to Scindia in the Lok Sabha with Prime Minister Narendra Modi making much of that episode, reacted to Scindia's departure from the party while speaking to reporters in the Parliament corridors on Wednesday.

With the Congress struggling to save its government in Madhya Pradesh, which is on the brink of collapse after 20 MLAs close to Scindia reportedly put in their papers, the party has taken its flock of MLAs to Jaipur where senior leaders are assigned to keep them together.

After joining the BJP, Scindia hit out at the Congress, saying, "The Congress today is not the same as it was in its original avatar."

He also accused the Congress of denying the ground reality. "I had a dream when Congress formed the government in Madhya Pradesh in 2018. Eighteen months later, none of the promises have been met, including the ones relating to the farmers," Scindia said.

He also accused his former party of going back on its promises as well as indulging in corruption. "Today 'transfer' is an industry in Madhya Pradesh," he alleged, hitting out at Chief Minister Kamal Nath.

It is believed that the BJP is likely to send him to the Rajya Sabha and accommodate him in the Union cabinet as well.

Also, if the BJP forms the government in Madhya Pradesh, Scindia's aides are likely to be inducted into the state cabinet taken under Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

His resignation on Tuesday came after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Home Minister Amit Shah.

Scindia was reportedly upset after being sidelined in the state and preempting that Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh may have prevailed over interim Congress president Sonia Gandhi against sending him to the Upper House from Madhya Pradesh.

'Only guy in Congress who could walk into my house anytime' . Who cares! Instead of making such silly statements, Congress should introspect because these are young leaders who showed promise. I am not sure of what motivated Scindia but the lack of leadership in Congress is not the biggest secret on earth.

"He was the only one who could walk into my house anytime". Sad that he has walked out of the party. Its high time congress mend its ways and do away with dynasty politics and chamchagiri. Able people should be given ample opportunities in the party leadership, then only congress can revive or else....many more Scindia's will follow.

As long as Shri Dig Vijaya Singh's hand is on Rahul Gandhi or Congress Party - Congress Party is not going to prosper . Shri Dig Vijaya Singh is a very corrupt person a Chief Minister . He was protecting Corruption and using those Corrupt Officials to earn more money . Shri Dig Vijaya Singh is partly responsible as C.M of M.P top destroy my career . had he taken action on any of my letters the guitly officials woulfd have been booked and they would not have been promoted to IAS Officers. Even following C.M's of M.P have used the corrupt Officials to make money and they have amassed wealth and got all unwanted official working done thru those corrupt officialsincluding one IAS officer who resigned prematurely was posted as Personal Secretary to Ex C.M of M.P from 2014.

Young honest people are not wanted by Congress or any party unless they can exploit them to the brim. Congress also utilesed Shri Dig Vijaya Singh services to break of Andhra Pradesh for reasons well known to Congress High Command. Do the People of India are aware of it . They also went all out to harass Shri Jag mohan present C.M of A.P . then as he did not listen to what Congress High command wanted. All State C.M have to pay royalty to High command for their surviaval at the cost of the people of that state . Do Indian people know about. This is why there is mass corruption in India. This may be applicable to all C.M who come under Political parties and sit in the state as C.M of that state.

    Tu Tu. Tu

The BJP’s intention is to kill democracy and when it is unable to win an election directly, its attention turns to grabbing power through backdoor methods.” This was Scindia just eight months ago when the Congress-JD(S) Government in Karnataka was on the brink of collapse.
On Tuesday, Scindia quit the Congress, setting the ball rolling for the BJP’s efforts to topple the Congress government, which was voted to power in Madhya Pradesh in December 2018.

Scindia is a expert politician. He realized, if he remains in Congress, there are not possibilities s of becoming minister. So, jump to BJP and a "minister-ship entry"!
His entry to BJP is not only loss for Congress. It is loss for original Bajpards as well !!!
