Mangaluru: International Women’s Day celebrated at Milagres College

Mangaluru, Mar 12: Women Empowerment, Development and Grievance Cell celebrated International Women’s Day on March 9. Prof Elsie Tharien former professor of psychology, St Agnes College was the resource person. She dealt in detail on the challenges faced during adolescence. This interactive session gave ample opportunities to the participants to clarify their doubts. It was a great learning experience.

Eva Manorama faculty coordinator welcomed the gathering. Prof Lourdusamy spoke on the significance of the day. Fr Michael L Santhumayor appreciated the students for having gathered here in a positive spirit to celebrate the day in large numbers. He drew the attention of the students to the importance of observing International Women’s Day.

Prof Elsie in her address spoke about the need for guidance to the students at their adolescence. She also stressed upon the need for liberation and good presence of mind and asked the students to have a good aim in life as it is very essential in the present day. She congratulated the students for having chosen Milagres college as it gives a lot of importance to girls and wished them luck for their future.
