Sat, Mar 14 2020Please ban those vegetables and fruits vendors set up their stalls above drainage passage in statebank areas. Everyone must go to proper markets which shall be maintained by municipality. All fish vendors set up stalls near road side must also be cleared as they are not hygiene. I have seen all local markets are empty and vendors sitting outside on road paying hafta to some officials and corporators. This old culture must be stopped in mangalore.

Save my India, India.
Sat, Mar 14 2020Well said Swati.
Old age habits are difficult to give up for some people!!
Besides, these vendors, their customers are a nuisance on the side walks too.
The need of the hour is to ban urinating in public, by bus drivers, bus passengers, and public, these street vendors and public hygiene must be maintained, which lacks among most Indians.
Random spitting, spitting gutka and Paan must be banned totally.
This is the time to clean up all cities in India, rather than just closing Airports, Railway stations, Malls, Cinemas, Churches, Halls etc. which makes no sense at all.

Sat, Mar 14 2020Banning road side food vendors is not a solution for Corona Virus.
Instead of bannig let MCC officials keep awareness programme or print awareness leaflets and distibute among the public.
There are thousands of roadside food stalls in Mangalore. Common man always chose this stall due to economically its cheaper ! Hygine also plays a major role !!!!!!!

Sat, Mar 14 2020A good decision. It should be implemented long term. These vendors are a strain on the infrastructure, dirty the place,do not pay taxes(they only pay hafta),breed corruption and provide a nidus for antisocial elements. BTW they are not poor.

Sat, Mar 14 2020Yes after eating tobacco and all sort of such things, they spit directly out wherever they feel like.....disgusting. one day i was walking by the roadside...cleaner of the one of the truck driver spat out from his mouth which fell on my head ....face....dress....its horrible exprience that i ever had in my life....one shop fellow saw this from far and he came to my rescue. He gave me water soap and good cloth to wipe my hair.... I remember him in my prayers. Fifteen days before i just went to his to see him. He still remembers that incident. May god continue to bless him and his family abundantly throughout his life time....unforgettful experience of my life ...😣

Sat, Mar 14 2020this is called for even in normal circumstances...there is no quality control on street / foot path food / drinks / fruits ...the material used is unbranded without expiry date or production details like source etc...the food is constantly exposed to vehicle fumes, dust etc...more over the people (especially the homeless migrants) preparing and vending this stuff ...not sure whether they have access to basic sanitation...not sure whether their hands are hygienic or not....the fruit plates are usually very substandard / stale / spoilt fruits peeled and cut into pieces...the plates / glasses are washed by dipping in same stored water throughout the day, supposed to be cleaned in this fashion...water used for the preparations is also stagnant water...
