About SSVP

A thought of serving was planted in the year 1933 by few of SSVP brothers and sisters.

Since 75 years, SSVP has been providing service to people, especially needy, downtrodden and widows of the parish as well as of the other caste and creed. SSVP has adopted some families and have been serving them till date.

Constructing new houses, repairing the weak ones, educating the young minds, spending time with the lonely ones, reaching out for the sick and walking with the helpless aged elderly are some of the humane services undertaken by the SSVP.

Im happy to see many youngsters(specially boys) are members of SVP in your Parish.SVP is the perfect society to render their service and to grow in discipline. It is proud to be a member of this society.I have seen their good work and sacrifice. They never expect reward for their service like their patron St.Vincent de paul, who's heart is still incorrupt, and is displayed in a reliquary in the chapel of the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity in Paris.

Dear Vincentians of St.Sebastian's conference, Permannur, my hearty congratulations to you on your continuing to serve the poor of our Lord for 75 years. While all your projects are laudable, I would like you to give special attention to poor children's education. For education is key to empowerment, enlightenment, equality and eradication of poverty. May the gen. next of your poor parishioners stand on their own and not depend on SVP.
