Panaji, Mar 17: Goa government has swung into action to contact all the passengers who had arrived by a flight from Dubai, after one of the passengers was tested positive for Covid19 infection at Bengaluru.
The eleventh patient who tested positive for Covid19 on Tuesday in Karnataka is a 67-year-old female, a residence of Bengaluru who returned from Dubai via Goa on March 9.
Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane told reporters that Government of Goa is taking all the steps possible to get in touch of all the people who have got off from that flight and entered Goa.
“All these people will be checked thoroughly and tests would be done for coronavirus,” he said.
“State secretary health Neela Mohanan is in touch with the airlines to get the data of the passengers,” Rane said.
“We will ensure that we will check them have test for covid19 and also would be quarantined,” he added.
Meanwhile, state health department has moved a note trying to see how we can handle this situation, Rane said.
“We have asked for the advice of the union health ministry on how we can lock the border because all the people during this 15 days period people with Maharashtra and Karnataka registration are coming to Goa,” he said.
The minister said that file has been moved to chief minister regarding the possibility of sealing the border.
