His humanitarian concern and helping nature have come in for appreciation from various quarters.

In a head-on collision between two motorbikes which happened in front of Vidyaniketan group of educational institutions at Kaup on Tuesday, March 17, both the bike riders had suffered injuries. Udupi DC G Jagadeesha, who was passing by that way, carried the injured to the local hospital in his own vehicle and thus won over the hearts of the people.

After the said accident, the locals were struggling to find a vehicle to admit the injured into the hospital. The deputy commissioner, who was proceeding towards the town from the direction of Mangaluru, stopped his vehicle and asked his staff to admit the injured into the hospital. The staff took the injured to Prashanth Hospital. Till they returned after admitting the injured, the DC stayed at the spot of the accident and conducted spot check.

Head on collision of bikes? What nonsense! Were they both unable to see each other? Is life so cheap to speed up even for a few seconds? Where our youth moving to? Impatience is brewing in the young generation to move like without sight during day time also. Thank God people do help in such situations. Hope both recover fast.
