Udupi: Three National Swimming Championship Medals for Archana

Udupi, Nov 20: Archana, a student of Manasa School, Panambur, won a gold, silver, and bronze in ‘Special Olympics—Bharat’, the national swimming championships for the intellectually challenged, held in Mumbai recently.
Archana, a resident of Asare, near here, represented the state in 50 mts freestyle and won the gold. She got the silver in 25 mts butterfly stroke and a bronze in the 4x25 relay.
Archana is the daughter of Jai Vittal, estate officer, Manipal University, and hoped to be selected for the international competition.
The national association will shortly announce the names of all those who will represent the country. The national federation is recognized by the ministry of youth affairs and sports.
