Karkala: Theft of two lac rupees from car - Accused held

Karkala, Mar 20: A police team led by town police station house officer here, Madhu, has succeeded in cracking a case in which two lac rupees in cash kept inside a car was stolen from Kabettu Junction here.

In an operation conducted at KSRTC bus stand, Chikkamagaluru, the police arrested Harikrishna (32), member of a notorious gang of thieves from Ojikoppam in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. A motorbike used for the theft was also seized from his possession.

The operation was conducted by a police team led by station house officer Madhu B E under the instructions of circle inspector Sampath Kumar and directions of deputy superintendent of police, Bharath Reddy.

A sum of two lac rupees kept in a cover inside a car that was parked at Kabettu Junction here had been stolen by two persons who came in a motor bike at 12 pm on March 7. On the same day, Malini (29), wife of Vincent Naveen Castelino, resident of Attur Gundyadka had filed complaint of theft in the town police station here.
