Kanika's event: Vasundhara says she and son self-quarantined

Jaipur, March 20 (IANS): Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor testing positive for coronavirus has come as bad news with former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje confirming that she along with her son Dushyant Singh were present in the event where Kapoor was present.

"While in Lucknow, I attended a dinner with my son Dushyant & his in-laws. Kanika, who has unfortunately tested positive for #Covid19 was also a guest," tweeted the former Rajasthan CM.

"As a matter of abundant caution, my son & I have immediately self-quarantined and we're taking all necessary precautions," she added.

Health officials told IANS that they are confirming if Vasundhara and her son are in Rajasthan and if someone who was in party or who returned to this state after getting in contact with these two, are anywhere in Rajasthan.

"If in Rajasthan, we shall take appropriate action," said an official.

Meanwhile sources said that Dushyant Singh after attending this party on March 15 also marked his presence in Lok Sabha during ongoing Parliament session and hence more dignitaries may join the list to get screened.

Over 200 people were present in the party and health officials said they would try to find out more details on who was present in the party and if they contacted anyone who is in Rajasthan.
