Coronavirus: DC bans vehicle movement from Mangaluru to Kerala through Kasargod

Mangaluru, Mar 20: Amid the increase in positive cases in Kerala and the recent six positive cases in Kasargod, as a precautionary measure, Mangaluru deputy commissioner (DC) Sindhu B Rupesh has laid down travel restrictions. The order will be set in place from March 21 at 2 pm till midnight on March 31.

Meanwhile, in the event of emergency travel, the public can opt to travel through the Talapady check post.



However, the DC stressed that the Talapady check post is to be used only under utmost emergencies and that all the other borders will be sealed.

    since most north kerala people are dependent on Mangalore / Manipal for medical care, it is important that flood of sick people from Kerala do not strain and fill our hospitals at this juncture...KL government should develop high class medical facilities in Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Cannanore etc....

    people from kerala can come by train as well. so first take precautions in railway stations. they can travel via mercara too. there are many ways. so please see all the routes. as of now mangalore is safe and we are safe. if one enters here then it will be disaster. so god has to save us.

    Most of the Kerala people use Train services stop that first and if there is a lockdown don't do it partially. Doing it partially is of no use, people still keep on moving and this may not help in breaking the chain aswell.

    A good move but what about train services?The patient at Kasargod had traveled by Mavelli express from Kozhikode to Kasargod and this train destination is Mangalore.Even otherwise large number of people use the train. Take precautions but be Happy be Healthy.

    Hey, anyone travelling from kasargod side to mangalorഈ, kindly update the current state of affairs. Is vehicles allowed at all through talpadi? I work in mangalore and im in kerala now. Taking extreme measures not to be exposed.

    Good move. All measures taken. But please be aware that school teachers are still forced to come and stay in school for the whole day and often attend meetings in small rooms with closed doors. This can be avoided

    Very true. Infact teachers are the one who are highly exposed to the risk of corona infection. But unfortunately all teachers in coastal region are compelled to go to workplace as if teachers are immune to all sort of deceases. Very disappointed that no one is speaking in their favour.
