Bengaluru, Mar 22: In view of the rapidly spreading coronavirus, all examinations, including SSLC, have been postponed in Karnataka.

Giving information to this effect, chief minister Yediyurappa said that SSLC examinations will be postponed in order to contain the fast-spreading coronavirus pandemic.

The CM also said that the borders of Karnataka will be completely sealed.

SSLC examinations were to be held in the state from March 27. Education minister Suresh Kumar had conveyed that the final decision will be taken on March 23. However, the CM has clarified the same on Sunday, March 22.

The new schedule for the exams has not been announced yet.

The state has been in a state of lockdown for the past one week. However, no change in the SSLC exams had been announced despite schools and colleges being shut down, which had created anxiety among students and parents alike. However, the state government has now postponed the exams.

Meanwhile, primary education minister Suresh Kumar informed that the last exam for second PU students to be held on March 23 will go on as scheduled, and all arrangements would be made in all the exam centres to ensure the safety of students.
