Devotees Celebrate ‘Subramanya Shasti’ with Great Fervour Across Undivided DK

Udupi, Nov 23: People across undivided Dakshina Kannada (DK) celebrated ‘Subramanya Shasti’ with great fervour on Monday November 23.
Devotees from all walks of life and especially those couples seeking progeny offered special prayers to Lord Subramanya in various temples across undivided DK on the occasion.
The temples dedicated to Lord Subramanya at Kukke in Puttur taluk, Kirimanjeshwar, Sooda, Santhoor, Kalavara, and also Vasuki Subramanya, Muchilagod, Aranthod, Doddanagudde, and Paduperampalli, were thronged by numerous of devotees on Monday.
Devotees of Lord Subramanya believe that the deity will grant them marital bliss, progeny, and relief from various ailments.
Lord Subramanya is called by various names such as ‘Skanda’ in north India, ‘Muruga’, ‘Shanmuga’, and ‘Armuga’ in Tamil Nadu, and ‘Subramanya Swami’ in the costal districts here.
Special prayers and worship to Lord Subramanya was offered in various temples across the region.
