But people from Bahrain and Dubai, who have immense interest in Konkani drama, are sure to have a gala time in the form of the entertainment bonanza Nellu Permannur’s ‘Bolpho’ is sure to provide.

The troupe is set to reach Bahrain on Wednesday November 25, where they will present ‘Bolpho’ at Bishop Tirinanazi Auditorium commencing at 8 pm on Thursday November 26. Folk Theatre Bahrain, in association with Karavali Konkans Association, will be presenting this show.
The troupe will arrive at Dubai on Friday morning for the show being organized there at Al Nasr Leasureland (Pool Side), Dubai the same day at 6.00 pm.
Denzil Fernandes of Sound Line, who is the organizer of the show, told daijiworld, "Pool side ambience is fantastic for the audiences, as the open air venue has been one of the best places for the Goan Tiatr for years. Very few Mangalorean Konkani plays have been hosted here. This venue will provide the audiences with lot of comfortable seating facilities and excellent sound experience."
"As the Eid holidays will be commencing this weekend, the demand for the tickets have been picking-up and we hope that by Thursday evening, all the tickets will be sold out. The ticket prices have been kept at a reasonable level, i.e., AED 25, 25 and 50 only. Tickets are available at regular outlets including Winny's Restaurant, Canara Restaurant, Dasprakash restaurant, Jacky Star Restaurant and other places" he said.
Ronald Colaco is the main sponsor of the show, Oasis Court being the co-sponsor.
Daijiworld.com will be the media partner for both the Bahrain and Dubai shows. Dubai's 105.4 FM Radio Spice is the official radio partner for the event in Dubai.
Youngest director, Shoun Rodrigues, has directed the play, which, according to Nellu Permannur, is "90% comedy and 10% story".
"We already have staged this play in a few places Mangalore, and have received very good response from the people. In addition, the play has already been booked for more than eight shows in Mangalore in the next few months" said Nellu Permannur, speaking to daijiworld.
He is confident that 'Bolpho' will provide a much-needed break for the audience in the gulf with its comedy theme.
