Dubai, Nov 25: As announced on daijiworld.com last week, young writer Stacey Pinto was one among the three selected for the IBDA'A award for Journalism (Non-news) category. IBDA’A student awards are hosted by Dubai Media City (DMC) in association with International Advertising Association.
During the prize distribution ceremony, it was announced that, Stacy emerged first in her category. Abdul Latif Almulla group chief executive officer of TECOM Investments, Abduhamid Jumma, chairman, Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) and Mohammed Abdulla, co-ordinator general of IBDA’A student awards, presented the awards to the winners at the event that was held at DMC Amphitheatre, here recently.
The students were picked from a total of 2,400 submissions for 12 categories from over 20 countries including first-time entries from China, Libya, Lithuania, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore and Thailand. The winners received attractive prizes as well as internships from leading international media companies. An elite panel of judges from International advertising association – UAE Chapter (IAA-UAE) selected the winners of the awards.
Senior government officials and representatives of leading media organizations were among those who attended the event.
About Stacey
Stacey Victoria Pinto is the youngest among the three children of well known Konkani writer Stany Pinto (Stany, Nirude) and Diana Pinto. A final year student of Manipal University, Dubai, Stacey is specializing in Print Journalism under Media and Communications. Writing is her passion and she has inherited this quality from her father famously known for his passionate romantic stories in Konkani.
