Mangalore: Man with Fake Passport Held by Policemen

Mangalore, Nov 27: Acting on reliable information, the personnel of the Superintendent of Police special intelligence squad arrested a man from Manjeshwar, who was trying to travel to Dubai with the help of a fake passport.

P A Abdul Latif (23) from Puchchattabail, Manjeshwar, was travelling to Bajpe airport here, to board a flight from there, in a car bearing Maharashtra registration, when the policemen intercepted the vehicle near Talapady. The team led by sub-inspector of police Prakash K, arrested Latif.

On verification, the policemen found that the passport he used, stood in the name of Talapady Syed Abdul Latif, which was obtained by furnishing false name and address to the passport office at Bangalore. Latif also was in possession of an Air India Express ticket to Dubai. The policemen found that the man had twice travelled to Dubai, where he works as a salesman in a super market, with the help of this passport. He had come here two months ago, and was going back to Dubai.

He was handed over to the Ullal police station for further action.
