Dubai, Nov 28:
A great crowd with holiday gusto enjoying their Eid break had a whale of a time at the Konkani comedy drama “Bolpho” at the Al Nasr Leisureland (poolside) here on Friday lavishly feasting in every bit of the play.

Mangalore’s noted dramatist Nellu Permannur and his troupe gave a sterling performance in the comedy drama showcased to the elite Konkani lovers. Superior acting skills punctuated with endless witty dialogues had the audience rolling in laughter.

Topping the performance was young lad Shawn Rodrigues, who looks like a star cut out for the future. Although a frail lad, Shawn acted brilliantly. Shawn is far more mature than his age and surely an actor to watch out for. Another one to shine besides Nellu was Dimple in the role of a school girl.  Others too chipped in with credible performances and gave the crowd plenty to cheer about.

A quality show without a doubt was complete with superb sound and lights which will be remembered by all the Konkani drama lovers for a long time to come. Visiting priest Fr Pravin Pinto along with other dignitaries like Michael D’Souza, Mark Dennis D’Souza and others lit the traditional lamp to start the proceedings promptly on time. Joseph Mathias honoured the visiting artistes by presenting special mementoes.

The well-arranged programme organized by Denzil Fernandes of Sound Line Events was appreciated by every single member of the audience. Barring a few minutes for the felicitation of the sponsors and a special Sound Line achievement  award for veteran Konkani artiste Francis (Cascia) Fernandes it was comedy drama all the way with everyone glued to their seat. Organizor Denzil Fernandes was pleased with the turnout and the support for Konkani drama.

Uttam Menezes compered the evening in his stylish manner. Anil Cardoza was the co-ordinator for the “Bolpo” troupe during their stay in Dubai. Organizor Denzil Fernandes thanked all the sponsors, associations and volunteers who had assisted for the success of the event.

The “Bolpo” team moves on with more performances in Mangalore scheduled in the months to come. Nellu’s Bolpo team had arrived earlier in the day from Bahrain after its performance there.
