Suspected coronavirus patient dies in quarantine in Goa


Panaji, Mar 29 (IANS): A 68-year-old female patient, with no travel history outside Goa and who was in quarantine due to suspected COVID-19 symptoms, died at 3 a.m. on Sunday, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said.

The Health Minister however said, that laboratory results of her samples are awaited.

"The 68-year old female patient complained of respiratory distress, diagnosed with COPD infective exacerbation, accordingly shifted to isolation ward; expired 29/03/20 at 3 am," Rane tweeted.

"However, lab results of the samples are awaited. She has no travel history outside Goa," he also said.

On Saturday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the health condition of the three COVID-19 positive patients who are currently in isolation was fine.

More than a 1000 persons are currently in quarantine in home and government-run facilities according to official statistics.
