Mumbai: 23 sanitation workers in home quarantine after co-worker tests positive for COVID-19

Mumbai, Apr 2: A 52-year-old sanitation worker from Worli area in Mumbai working under Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has tested positive for coronavirus, an official revealed.

The worker has been working in the Solid Waste Management Department is the second patient tested positive for coronavirus from the Worli area.

An official said that after the man developed symptoms he was admitted to a hospital and was tested positive. At present, his condition is reported to be stable. Over 23 workers who worked with him are asked to quarantine themselves as well his family members.

Maharashtra has documented the highest number of quarantine cases with 335 positive cases in the country.

Nationwide the total number of positive cases mounted to 1,965 on Thursday after 131 fresh positive cases were reported in the last 12 hours. As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare over 50 people have lost their lives due to coronavirus in India.
