Mangalore, Dec 5:  Nine girls and two men were arrested from two branches of a massage therapy centre in the city by police for their alleged involvement in illegal activities on Saturday December 5.

The arrested girls are the staff of the massage parlours and the men are visitors who were allegedly involved in prostitution. The massage centres are branches of the ‘Relax-in-Spa’ owned by Boja Devadiga.

Five girls and a man were arrested from the branch in Subhash Nagar near Hoige Bazar in Pandeshwar while the others were taken into custody from the parlour situated on Kotekani Road in Chilimbi near Urva Store.

Police said that policemen under directions of assistant superintendent of police Amit Singh went into the massage centres simultaneously, based on a tip-off. The information was found to be true and the arrests were made.

The spa claimed to provide Ayurvedic massages by trained therapists. Police have seized some items as proof of the illegal activities.

The owner of the spa alleged that police raided his establishments without any proof based on a false complaint.

The arrested were taken into police custody in Pandeshwar and Urva police stations.

If some thing found wrong in future the people blame only police and if the police take any action without any complaint public blame the police. One thing police ought to have close the faces of the girls with humanitarian ground.

Seems like someone is scoring personal or business rivalry with the owner, it is hard to believe that these ladies involving themselves in this racket. Police should have done proper investigation before raiding the parlor.

We cannot see the board like "MEN ARE NOT ALLOWED" if this parlour was strictly for ladies. Over all the pictures itself exhibits its a beautiful parlour, Police and Media must not labelled as prostituion before its confirmed with proof).

It's embarrassing....the people who involved in such cases should be strongly punished. So others should not even dare to think about such crimes in the future..

Police can book anybody with multiple cases, as they can only prove their innocense in court of law, which is very slow & already overburdened. This at the best is time consuming & futile, unless fast track courts are set up & judgement will come out within a few months. The Harrasment by legal authorities is only deterrent at present, which can be bought with money. The "mantra" seems to be live & let live, by all sides right now. As long as nobody is raping anybody agaisnt their wish, the law needs to be amended to properly monitor to prevent transmission of HIV,its the need of the hour.

Prostitution is nothing new, it is existing since centuries. It is only how we look at it. If it is made legal, Police has no work in it at all unless there is violence and crime. In some countries it is legal and prostitutes are even allowed to advertise in TV and newspapers and Media. When India adopts it as legal there will be huge advertisements all over TV and newspapers.
