Beltangady, Dec 9: All arrangements have been made to make the Vishwa Tulu Sammelan being held at Ujire from December 10 to 13, successful and convenient for the participants. For the people coming from far off places like Mumbai, Mangalore will be the point from where they would be taken to the venue. In addition to the KSRTC buses, special bus services will ply from various points to Ujire, to ensure that the people willing to take part in this historical event do not face any problems.
The visitors will be put up at lodges in the town, in addition to Kashibettu, Ujire, Dharmastala etc. Parking arrangements have beeen made separately for heavy vehicles and light vehicles at various points, depending on the route through which the participants arrive.
The media centre of the Tulu Sammelan, ‘Suddi Boodu’ was inaugurated by Capt Ganesh Karnik, chairman of Karnataka NRI Forum on Tuesday December 8. In his address on the occasion, Karnik wished that the Sammelan will succeed in giving a clear, model message and concept for the country as a whole. He urged the present generation to conserve the rich culture of this region and hand over it to the next generation.
Dharmastala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade, said that a human being should be humane at heart, before being anything else. He hoped that the Sammelan will help to spread the message of preserving the culture of the area. MLA Vasant Bangera, who presided, asked the media to point out and guide the politicians when they stray away from their duties.
SDM Education Society vice-president, Prof S Prabhakar, Sammelan Samiti secretary, Dr B Yashovarma and Media Committee head, Anand Shetty, were preent.
