Udupi: USWAS Team from Dubai to Host 'Dabazo' at Shirva on Jan 1

Udupi, Dec 13: USWAS (UAE’s St Mary’s Welfare Association, Shirva) an association of Shirva parishioners residing in UAE, under the leadership of Vincent Corda is setting the stage for its USWAS Dabajo 2010 to be held at the open grounds of Shirva Church on January 1, 2010.
The event is scheduled to start at 6.00 pm on January 1 and USWAS has planned a fun-filled evening of variety entertainment for those who wish to be a part of USWAS Dabajo 2010. The event will be hosted by Uttam Menezes, a well known master of ceremony in the Gulf. He has been a host for several programmes in different languages like Konkani, English, Hindi and is fluent in Tulu and Kannada as well.
Shirva’s well known comedians, 'Boscyambegar' are all working hard to bring out some of the comedy skits. ‘Tunduraay’ and ‘Rock On’ show which was well appreciated by all who witnessed Shirva Fest 2009 will be staged again in Shirva.
Well known band, ‘Strings’ of Mangalore under the leadership of well known guitarist Rajgopal along with ten other musicians will provide live musical entertainment for USWAS Dabajo 2010. Rajgopal has been the core musician (lead guitarist) for musical shows and TV shows of playback singer Chitra and many others. He has given music for plenty of music albums in Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Konkani among others. Rajgopal has assured the best from his troupe for USWAS Dabajo 2010.

Maxim Pereira of Baila Boom fame will also perform for Dabajo 2010 along with Shirva’s very own talented singers Asha Maben and Canute Mathias among others. Reputed singer and golden voice of coastal belt Ravindra Prabhu along with Abbas, Srinivas, Nayana and Jyothsna will add spice to the musical entertainment when they render their voice for Hindi, Kannada and Tulu Songs.

USWAS will also conduct singing competition for all Shirva parishioners which is to be held on December 12 and 13 in Shirva. Finals of the competition ‘Male Voice’ & ‘Female Voice of Shirva’ will be held during USWAS Dabajo 2010 programme.
Vicar general of Mangalore diocese, Fr Denis Moras Prabhu will preside over and Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld also be present at the function along with the patrons of USWAS. A well deserved personality from Shirva parish will be honoured with ‘USWAS Puroskar’ during the event.
