Goa's Covid-19 tally now falls to one: Health Minister

Panaji, Apr 16 (IANS): With one more patient admitted to the state's designated Covid-19 hospital testing negative late on Wednesday, Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the count of positive patients in the state had come down to one.

"Goa to lead the way! Happy to announce that Goa's active Covid-19 case is down from two to one, after following due protocols. As per the guideline, a repeat sample was being tested and reported negative," Rane said in a statement.

"We are hopeful that our active case will be at zero by next week," he added.

The patient is now expected to be sent to home quarantine for seven days.

Ever since the viral pandemic broke out in the country, Goa had recorded seven Covid-19 positive patients, six of whom had an overseas travel history. Over the last two weeks, Rane has claimed that six persons who had tested positive have been cured as their tests had come negative.
