Mangalore: Successful Trial Run at New Terminal of Bajpe Airport

Mangalore: Successful Trial Run at New Terminal of Bajpe Airport
Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Dec 17: A non-scheduled flight from Goa with special invitee passengers on board, participated in the full testing of the new integrated terminal building at Bajpe Airport in Kenjar on Wednesday December 16. The public trial is a critical step towards making the new terminal operational.

Ministry of civil aviation and director general of civil aviation guided the test, which has been termed a success. The aviation safety audit of the terminal, which was conducted recently, has already found that the terminal has met overall safety requirements.

The trial run put to test the real-time parametres like security, x-ray, check-in, baggage handling etc. The passengers who came by the flight were provided with disembarking facility and refreshment at the airport on their arrival.  It is learnt, that once the immigration facilities are established, a similar test for an international flight would be conducted at the new terminal building.

I have to agree with Mr.Naveen Shetty 100%. People might not get sick in the plane but when they get down this road they may. ha haaaaa... It was better to construct a flyover banked bridge with a smoother slope.

Definitely i agree with Mr. Naveen Shetty. Last time when daiji posted pictures of new terminal’s exit route everyone started praise without realising that it is not a healthy road for an international airport. I am just concerned and keen to see what will happen after vehicles are allowed on that road. Anyway, may hard works of people get good result.

I am happy to hear about the international terminal of Mangalore International Airport inauguration soon. Finally a beautiful international airport coming up at Bajpe(Mangalore). At last we will have a New Modern Airport. We also expecting more flights from Gulf countries. International length 2.9 km runway already built on 2006. Now any bigger airlines like Airbus A330, A320,A319 can land at Mangalore airport. Our government must also allow foreign airlines like Gulf air, Emirates airlines, Qatar airways, Oman airways ect... ect... to international operations. Mangalore is a fast growing city in Karnataka. Thanks to Daijiworld media made wonderful photographs on New airport building.

A look a new approach road to new terminal makes everyone laugh at the people who planned this blunder. I really wonder how PM's convoy can travel through this road. Its not very difficult for even a common man to say this road is the worst approach road to a interantional airport anywhere in the world.

Nice to hear this good news. But some other is also making rounds these days. It is understood that the new road built from Kenjar to to new terminal is not being approved by the concerned authorities. If this is true, it is reallly pathetic. It is like one step forward - two steps backward. Daijworld - Please investigate this matter and bring the truth to the people.
