April 'salaries' for chess body staff will be paid, says Secy

Chennai, Apr 21 (IANS): Even as the Indian Bank has decided not to allow any debits or withdrawals from All India Chess Federation's (AICF) account with it, the chess body's Secretary said the staff will be paid.

"The AICF staff will be paid a sum equivalent to their April salaries from our private funds. The staff will be requested to pay us back the sums once they get their salaries from AICF," Bharat Singh Chauhan told IANS.

An intense power fight is on-going between the camps led Chauhan and President P.R.Venketrama Raja.

Seeing the power struggle, the Indian Bank - the bankers for AICF - has decided to stop any debits/withdrawals from the AICF account.

Indian Bank has restricted account operations to only credits or deposits in the absence of any court order submitted by either of the warring parties directing the bank to allow operation in the account for debits.
