Mexico City Legalises Same-sex Marriage

Mexico City, Dec 22 (DPA) The legislative assembly of Mexico City on Monday legalised same-sex marriage and adoption by gay couples.

The assembly voted 39-20, with five lawmakers abstaining, to change the civil code and allow same-sex marriages. Legislators also voted 31-24, with nine abstentions, to legalise adoption by gay couples.

Under the city's civil code, marriage is currently defined as the union of a man and a woman. The new bill changes that to a union of two people.

Legislators had in 2007 approved civil unions for homosexuals.

The marriage means union of two opposite sexes for procreation. The institution of marriage gives legal rights to partners to live together and procreate. By this institution, legality of child is sought and human race is continued. When the government legalises same sex marriage, then the government must ensure the procreation and continuity of human race. By legalising same sex marriage, the government is seeking destruction of human race and seeking God's wrath. Wisdom must prevail. In the name of human rights, we cant legalise each and every thing. The law makers must answer to God for such illogical behaviour/decission
