Local woman booked under criminal intimidation for calling another ‘prostitute’ in Goa

Panjim, Apr 25: A local woman in North Goa was booked for the criminal charges of intimidations and punishment after a video was released of her calling another woman a 'prostitute'.

Four women, two of Nepali origin and two from Sikkim were allegedly walking on the pavement, when a native local woman ambushed them and demanded them to go home. One of the women stayed back, and then had the local woman call her a ‘prostitute’. The video of this incident soon went viral.

A fight broke after that and the victim came to lodge a written complaint. Soon after, people at the site, including the other three women, were probed and statements were taken, informed an officer.

The accused was identified as Aarti Naik, a resident of Porvorim. She has now been booked under sections of punishment for causing harm and aiming to provoke breach of peace.
