Fujairah, Dec 26: South Canara Families and Friends here celebrated their first annual sports and fun day at ‘Ain Al Madhab’ National Park on Friday December 25.
It was a daylong event of fun and frolic for the families. The event began with the prayer by Moulana Sakhafi. Senior member and sports president Ahmed Basheer inaugurated the event. Children took a running lap around the ground along with balloons and declared the sports meet open.
The sports day began with the general knowledge and Islamic quiz for children and adults. Running race was organized for children below five years and all children took part in the games, enthusiastically. Games such as lemon on the spoon race, one leg race and shot put events were held for men and women.
As the day progressed the events for seniors were organized. Events for seniors began with 100-metre race for men and women. For seniors above 35 years there was walking race participated by all with great gusto.
