Mumbai: Mantralaya closed for 2 days to spray disinfectant

Mumbai, Apr 29: The entry to the Mantralaya and the new administration building is lately been barred by the state government to conduct disinfection and fumigation on Wednesday and Thursday after four of the housekeeping staff tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday. The additional chief secretary of the general administration department, Sitaram Kunte issued an order on the same on Tuesday.

Chanda Jadhav assistant municipal commissioner (Ward A) commented that after the housekeeping staff were tested positive, all those who were in close proximity with them were tested as well. But, the tests came back negative.

Since the outbreak, the state secretariat has been functioning with only 10 per cent staff.
