'Run-out mat hona': Jadeja sends out important COVID-19 message

New Delhi, Apr 30 (IANS): India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja sent out an important message regarding coronavirus pandemic using one of his old run-out videos. Jadeja implied that staying home is the best way to curb the spread of the virus and one could be 'run-out' venturing out of the four walls.

His post read: "Bahar bindass ghumte ho. Mast mein timepass karte ho. Jab apko ghar pe rhna chaiye. Phr ye to hona hi tha. #StaySafe #RunOutMatHona."

In normal circumstances, Jadeja would currently be playing for Chennai Super Kings in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League but the tournament was postponed by the BCCI.

Not just cricket but entire sporting calender of the world has been ruined by the deadly virus. Multi-national events like Olympics and Euro have been pushed back to 2021.

Danger clouds are also circling over the fate of T20 World Cup in Australia later this year. Earlier, speaking to IANS, a BCCI official said that a number of factors would come into play as far as T20 WC is concerned and all that would be only after normalcy returns.

The official went on to point at the travel restrictions to begin with and the fresh directives that might come in across the globe, not just in India.

"To be honest, the T20 World Cup in October seems to be impractical and even thinking of a gathering of people of that magnitude at this time is naive. I mean think about it. At this stage you don't know when international travel would be safe. Someone is saying June, someone is saying longer. Once travel does open up, it would be prudent to study the impact of travel as to whether the coronavirus remains controlled or not," the official pointed.
