Dubai, May 1: The Kannadigas residing in UAE who are willing to return to India can now register their name in the KNRI forum (www.knriuae.com) website, said Karnataka NRI Forum president Praveen Kumar Shetty and general secretary Prabhakar Ambalathere.
However, the priority will be given to pregnant women, elderly people, those who have lost their job, people who have health issues and the people who went to Gulf on a visiting visa and finding difficulty in getting back to India. NRIs those who have registered in KNRI website also need to register themselves on the Indian Embassy website www.cgidubai.gov.in.

KNRI Forum will gather information of the people from Karnataka in the Gulf, while the embassy will gather information of all the NRIs who are keen to come back to India. Regarding the expenses for flight or ship ticket, the decision will be limited to the state and central government. However, the decision on the same is officially not yet announced.
KNRI will hand over all the details of those who have registered on their forum to the Centre. If there are 4 people in a household, when registering a name, they must register separately and furnish accurate reasons for return. People who are returning should also strictly follow the guidelines detailed by the central government and state government.
The office-bearers of KNRI Forum, via video conference, on Thursday discussed the issues and arrangements to be arranged for the NRIs who are coming back. In meeting the office bearers requested the central and state governments to make suitable arrangements for the NRIs. Sarvotham Shetty vice-president, Mohammed Ali, Uchila, Sadhan Das, Deepak, M E Moolur, Abdul Lathif Mulki, Dr Kap Mohammed, Harish Kodi, Mohan, Shashidhar, Nagarajappa, Altaf, Puttarajgowda, Abu Ahmad and others were present.
