Shimla, Jan 2: Himachal Pradesh Saturday morning resumed hydropower generation after closing it for more than an hour due to northern grid failure owing to heavy fog, a official said here.
"The power in all the mini and major hydropower projects was restored around 4 a.m. The projects tripped after the northern grid developed snag due to fog at 3.02 a.m.," Suneel Grover, director of generation at the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board, told IANS.
"Now the generation and the supply of electricity are normal," he added.
The electricity board runs 21 run-of-river projects with a combined generation capacity of 467 MW.
