Western Army Commander reviews readiness, Covid-19 situation


Shimla, May 5 (IANS): Western Army Commander Lt Gen R.P. Singh visited the Yol cantonment and the Palampur military station in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh to review operational readiness and the Covid-19 pandemic situation, according to an official statement by the army here on Tuesday.

Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, General Officer Commanding of Rising Star Corps, briefed him about the operational preparedness and the efforts to fight the pandemic.

He also interacted with civil officials and felicitated Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Prajapati for his efforts in containing the virus.

Thereafter, he visited the Palampur military station and interacted with doctors and staff of the dedicated Covid hospital and Covid care centre.
