Focus on supply chain to revive economy: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, May 5 (IANS): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, after a conversation with Nobel laureate and noted economist Abhijeet Banerjee, has suggested that the government should consider all the aspects of fighting coronavirus and reopening the economy.

"While tackling the virus, think in terms of zones. While reopening the economy, think in terms of supply chains," Gandhi tweeted, here on Tuesday.

Insisting on stimulus for the economy, Banerjee said, "That's what the US is doing, Japan is doing, Europe is doing. We really haven't decided on a large enough stimulus package. We are still talking about 1 per cent of the GDP. The US has gone for 10 per cent of the GDP."

While interacting with Rahul Gandhi, Banerjee said the revival of economy should have a durable effect on poverty. "Will the economy revive, and how does one think through the possible time paths of this disease through that process are the real concerns," he said.

Stating that the lockdown had defined hardship for farmers, the Congress said the government must step in immediately to provide them some relief.

If you watch the talk with Raghuram Rajan, it was for half an hour. But the clock right behind showed one full hour as the actual duration. The editing went on and on multiple times for another half an hour to correct the blunders and follies uttered by our man.
Now we know how the scripted, prompted, guided edited talks take place by our man with the learned fools!!!

If you watch the unedited version of the talk, our man is asking:

    Supply Chain??
    Supply what and where?
And Chain may not be of gold or silver!
Must be of steel or aluminium or brass or galvanized iron".

Why did Modi run to Varanasi to gather Hindu majority votes while his constituency was in Gujrat????.... Still in Varanasi Modi did not dare to contest in front of popular SP candidate BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav. So Modi somehow made Tej Bahadur disqualified and denied ticket to contest and only then Modi filed his nomination to contest elections in Varanasi. Otherwise it would have been impossible for Modi to win in Varanasi and had to run to Andaman to fight elections and permanently settle there as Qaidi No. 010.

Feel sorry for the party ....
The golden rule during a crisis of this magnitude is....
1.You give advice when asked for...
    2. Form a direct action plan together with authorities concerned ...
3.Have a rapport with the PM ,one to one on all issues of concern and that affecting the country.
    Not tweet on
    Your own findings
    Your own consultations
    Your own strategies ...
...Once or twice a day ,conduct press conferences and issue press releases at will.
The Nation should stand as one in these times even if you have ideoligical differences.
Picking mistakes all the time ,giving erronous information ,trying to gain political mileage will definitely not work !
There are hardly any Congress workers on ground ...
    None to be found anywhere..
Galvanize your party cadre to win hearts....Votes will follow....
If you don't mend your ways it will be too late. Many say it is already too late ...

Bhandarkar maamu. You are completely wrong. The wise man will Pick mistakes and will advise on the issues so that the ruling govt. can improve their strategy . If you think it is wrong it would be selfish thought which may not be supportive of the country . Forget about INC gaining Votes. They have ruled almost 5 decades. No party in the world has continuously won . Always there is an up-down curve.

Bandumam, he is not talking about party politics, he is giving good suggestions to the government to bring back economy from the crisis. As a responsible opposition party leader Rahul Gandhi is doing right thing at the right time. It is entirely up to the government to listen or not.
