Music can endure any hardship: Harbhajan Mann

New Delhi, May 7 (IANSlife): Popular Punjabi singer, actor and producer Harbhajan Mann believes that music can endure any hardship, and there is always hope as long as the sentiments present in the songs resonate with the audience.

"In these tough times, challenges and experiences in the lockdown may vary on personal levels, but I believe artistes have the time now to take a step back and approach their artistry in creative new ways. Music is something that can endure any hardships. As long as the sentiments present in the songs resonate with its audience, especially in challenging times like this, there is always hope," the artiste, known for his songs like "Tin Rang" and "Yadaan Reh Jaaniyan", tells IANSlife.

Mann, who released his single "Chup - The Silence" amid the lockdown feels that the period is "vital" for independent and folk artistes as people now have the time to listen to a variety of music.

"Independent music and folk music in the Indian industry have become vital now as new film music releases have been put on hold. It is important to look at silver linings in difficult circumstances and right now it is a time when brand new music from various talented artistes can be heard," says Mann, who has joined hands with an online music series called 'Let's Folk Together' to support folk music and its artistes.

Sharing his lockdown schedule, Mann says it consists of spending time with his family, composing new songs, watching Netflix. "I also enjoy walking on the terrace in the evening, and enjoying some music."

He says: "Lockdown or not, my approach to music has not changed! I thoroughly enjoy a few hours daily spent on creating new tracks. And with an optimistic outlook on everything getting better soon, I'm also practicing on tracks for future stage performances!"
