BJP hits back at Rahul: 'Evergreen youth leader nearing 50'

New Delhi, May 8 (IANS): After Rahul Gandhi on Friday trained his guns on the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was the turn of BJP, who in an official statement, accused him of speaking without full knowledge of a subject. As Gandhi hit out at Modi asking the decision to categorise zones should not be made from the PMO, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi mocked him by calling him "evergreen youth leader".

"In spite all the efforts, communal politics is being played and efforts are being made to go against the government in international forums. But there has been no appeals made by the Congress party," said Trivedi.

The BJP claimed that the Centre is more than receptive to suggestions from the Opposition provided they are constructive and are based on facts. But, the ruling BJP accused the grand old part of repeating old accusations which the BJP said were devoid of truth or sense of cooperation.

Earlier in the day, in a press conference, Rahul Gandhi said, "Indian economy has stopped, businesses are collapsing and you need to create demand immediately. You need to get the system started, else there will be a catastrophe." The Congress leader said the need of the hour is to create demand, put money in the system and in poor people's hands.

The BJP hit back, saying, "As far as helping the poor and the needy are concerned, the Centre has given a package worth Rs 1.7 lakh crore, which is far bigger than the one which Rahul Gandhi discussed today."

The economic package, Trivedi claimed, has benefited more than 39 crore people. He said benefits such as ration to even those without holding a ration card has been ensured by the BJP-led Centre. Similar is the benefit of providing free cooking gas cylinders for three months, he added.

The BJP claimed that the direct benefit transfer, which the former Congress President is harping on, has already been done and continues to be done by the Modi government. "Abhijit Banerjee has also welcomed it," he said.

Banerjee is a Nobel laureate with whom Gandhi recently had a much-publicized chat on ways to re-energize the Indian economy.

The BJP in the central government has no answers from the Congress leader who has matured with age of politics.
So personal attack is the best weapon of choice to deflect attention from the migrant crisis, increasing fuel prices, no PDS distribution for the month of April, no transparency to PM Care funds, no compensation for the Covid-19 causalities under disaster management and the list goes on.

If BJP has age bar restrictions the LK Advani should not be in the 'Margardashak Mandal'. The most of the BJP leaders are charming youth so they found in porn watching, rape and criminal activities before being elected to the parliament.

Rahul Gandhi should pack his bag and move to Mumbai. Then carry out the operations to fight covid in Maharashtra from his base station. Remember Rahul Gandhi is in power in Maharashtra. Now he should call the shots so that the numbers go down. Only then will anyone take him seriously.

You seriously need to update your general knowledge. Rahul is just an MP from Waynad, he's not in power in Maharashtra. Btw, what's. BJP doing to reduce the number in Gujarat, just counting on the wall built to hide the slums to shield the Corona as well?

My question to RaGa . Is anybody stopping you from helping. You have huge party and personal funds , large cadre base , industrialists , press on your side. Please help by utilising all your resources. People will appreciate good work. Plain talks are useless in current situation. You paid dearly in 2019 election, ,where you had to run to Wayanad to win on minority votes.

Looks like Rahul knows more about this disease than the best scientists and doctors of the world. The lifting he suggested a few weeks ago and had we listened we know what would have happened to the people of India. He should be better advised to keep his wisdom, self-proclaimed to himself than exhibit it to the entire world. We already know pappu well enough.

Rahul its just a futile exercise if you keep taunting the center for each and every move. The need of the hour is not to hold pressers or chats. Definitely Rahul can discuss with experts to find a solution, which he feels is the best. Thereafter instead of making public announcements, he should get on to the arena and implement his ideas.

The best for him is to find a state where he will be given an hearing and work in tandem with the CM and his Ministry. The best state for Rahul will be Maharashtra, which needs specialist advise. Implement the ideas and prove your mettle. The center will only welcome this specific help. Other states will also follow. Please, Rahul, take this advise seriously and land in Mumbai by Sunday.

Except for making personal attacks, the saffron brigade cannot find an answer to the questions raised by Rahul Gandhi. The saffron brigade by promoting their "communal divide" through their friendly news channel anchor whose mouth is like an open-grave, are now stung by international criticism and want the Congress to come to their rescue to stem the criticism.
