TCS World 10K Bengaluru now to be held on November 22


Bengaluru, May 9 (IANS): Procam International on Saturday announced that the 13th edition of World Athletics Gold Label Race, Tata Consultancy Services World 10K Bengaluru, has been further postponed and will now take place on November 22 this year.

The race was initially scheduled for May 17 but it was first postponed to September 13 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. And now it has been scheduled for November 22.

Vivek Singh, Joint-MD Procam International said, "While this pandemic has plunged the world into a crisis we have never encountered before, we believe this phase will pass, with sport coming through even stronger."

"Safety and precaution are paramount for the event. This re-scheduling of the Tata Consultancy Services World 10K was imminent to regain some form of normalcy, especially for the travel and participation of our international stakeholders," he added.

The online registrations for the rescheduled event will commence on September 8 morning.

Hugh Jones, Race Director, TCS World 10K Bengaluru, said, "Postponing an event of this magnitude is never easy. We are fortunate that all stakeholders were on board with this new date and they too are of the belief that runner's safety comes first. We are positive this will be over soon, and we can once again etch inspiring stories from India, for the world."
