Use PM-CARES Fund to help migrant workers: Congress

New Delhi, May 10 (IANS): Criticising the central government over the migrant crisis, the Congress, here on Sunday, said instead of presiding over the plight of migrant labourers it should use the PM-CARES Fund to help them.

"How much has been collected in the fund? When will it be used? It's time this insensitive government wakes up to the plight of migrant labourers and protect them," said Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate addressing the media.

Alleging that the ruling Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) was playing petty politics, Shrinate said the Railway Ministry as well as the Central government tried to block the assistance provided by the Congress.

She said it was difficult to get permits and NOC online since some states official sites didn't work. In many cases, mobile numbers provided for coordination were found switched off, she alleged.

The Congress leader said no transport was being provided to many, stranded away from big cities, to reach railway stations. "We urge the government to earnestly announce proper rescue and relief measures for migrant labourers," she said.

Stating that in a time of crisis every human being wants to be home, with their families, Shrinate said but the migrant labourers were denied this option. "Most of them had lost their jobs," she said.

Migrant labourers had been the worst hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and its collateral economic ruin, she said.

The PM-CARES fund is the new BJP's avatar of '2G scam' after 'electoral bonds' that made corruption legal in this country.
Like Electoral bonds, these new PM-CARES too has kept our CAG auditing. There are no day to day update of donation and amount disbursed.
The difference between the income & expenditure of PM Relief Fund from 2014-2019 looks like there are some 2200 crores lying idle in this account.
Why not PM Modi's BJP government simply rename PMNRF as PM-CARES, given the PM's penchant for catchy acronyms, instead of creating a separate Public Charitable Trust whose rules & expenditure are totally opaque?
Prime Minister of India you owe the country an explanation for this highly unusual step.

Let's ask Dear Leader to spend this money first before donating in his fancy new bank account. Does he really "care"?

These people are more worried about donations to the PM Cares Fund rather than tackling the Virus !
Everyday talking with 1 or 2 people ,advising, resting and then again enquiring about
Collections to the PM Cares Fund !
    Some simple advice:
1.Those who have contributed are not asking...Why are you bothered ?
2.It's a question of belief and trust in our PM.Have you read about surveys ?
The populace for about 70 years trusted you people the same way but you lost it by taking them for umpteen rides! To get it back is very difficult !
3.You question everyday then it is sure to boomerang on you ! For the people trust their PM now not you..
4.So in view of the above try honestly to win at least some of the trust back.
Work hard, bend your back in the field where it matters most.Armchair tactics from
    here on will never work.

As the name suggests this fund is for PM care during this critical times not for others. I tried to press the big yellow button says 'Click Here For Donation Details' it's not responding. Looks like this button is only to read the message in public media but not to get any details not to accuse the ruling govt in the centre being corrupt.
